There are those of us that look like we've got it all together at all times and then there are those, like Dawn, who have an inner struggle with being different.
In book one of The Dawn series we find that although Dawn doesn't seem to be human, she struggles with being different.
She doesn't think she has emotions like humans, yet she still has a desire to fit in. You would think that would be the last thing on the mind of a person with superhuman powers.
Her differences make her who she is and equip her for her destiny. Dawn embraces this but without realizing it, isolates herself from those close to her. She doesn't realize that she is causing a rift between her and her people.
What can we learn from Dawn?
Allow your differences to be your strengths. Your differences make you unique. They may draw attention and curiosity, and that's okay. Don't try to fall into society's definition of what is normal. There's no such thing as normal so don't hide.
Remember this: Comparison is the thief of joy.
Be you. Be great!
"God has called us to be different. To stand against the grain. To be a city on a hilltop (Matthew 5:14). And to be the change for a world that lacks hope. Realizing you don’t fit in is a good thing. You weren’t made to fit in. You were made to fulfill your calling in Christ. You were made to fit out. Stand tall. Press on."
